Healy, John J b. October 27, 1866 d. March 16, 1899 19th Century Major League Baseball Pitcher. John J. Healy was born in Cairo, Illinois, hence the nickname "Egyptian". Over an eight year Major League career with 7 clubs, he acrued a lifetime record of 78-136 with a 3.84 era in 227 games. His career started at the age of 19 and ended at the age of 26. He was one of the pitchers on the All-American Team that toured the world in 1888-89, which was also called The Spalding Tour. After he retired from the game he became a St.Louis Policeman. Healy, Patrick Francis b. February 27, 1834 d. January 10, 1910 Religous Leader, Educator. Son of an Irish immigrant, Michael Healy, and Mary Eliza Healy, a former slave. He became the first African American to earn a doctorate degree. Healy, Timothy Michael b. May 17, 1855 d. March 26, 1931 Political Figure. An important influence on Irish politics for nearly 50 years. He was a member of Parliament for Wexford from 1880 to 1919. On December 6,1922, he was appointed the first Governor-General of the Irish Free State by the Royal Commission. The (Irish Free State lasted from 1922 to 1937).
