Orchard, Harry b. 1866 d. 1954 Bomb slayer of scores of men in mine labor violence. Pleaded guilty to the dynamite slaying of former Idaho Gov. Frank Steunenberg in 1905. He was sentenced to hang, but the sentence was commuted to life. He was converted to Christianity, and wrote the book, "Harry Orchard: The Man God Made Again." Ostner, Charles d. 1913 Artist. Known as "Idaho's Pioneer Artist," his gilded equestrian statue of George Washington stands in a glass case in the Idaho state capital building in Boise. It was carved from pine over a four-year period. To obtain Washington's likeness, he used a United States postage stamp. He also crafted several unique monuments for Pioneer Cemetery in Boise. Stevenson, Edward Augustus b. June 15, 1831 d. July 6, 1895 US Territorial Governor. He moved to California during the Gold Rush and served in its State Legislature 1854 to 1856 and 1860 to 1861, with a stint as Speaker in 1860. He later served the Idaho Territorial Council from 1866 to 1868 and again from 1876 to 1878. Stevenson was Territorial Governor of Idaho for President Grover Cleveland in 1885. Vickers, David b. December 21, 1840 d. June 27, 1908 Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General. During the Civil War, he served as a captain in the 3rd New Jersey Infantry and was promoted to colonel in the 4th New Jersey Infantry. After the war, he served as a diplomat in Cuba.
