Rogers, Clifford Joy b. December 20, 1897 d. May 18, 1962 Acting Governor of Wyoming from 1953 until 1955. As Secretary of State, he assumed the duties of Acting Governor in 1953 upon the resignation of Frank Barrett. He was defeated in a re-election bid in the Republican primary in 1954. Ross, Nellie Tayloe b. November 29, 1876 d. December 19, 1977 First female governor of Wyoming (and first in the country, as a whole). She served from January 5, 1925 to January 3, 1927. Thompson, Allen b. October 1, 1847 d. February 27, 1906 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Private in the Union Army in Company K, 4th New York Heavy Artillery. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on April 1, 1865 at White Oak Road, Virginia. His citation reads "Made a hazardous reconnaissance through timber and slashings, preceding the Union line of battle, signaling the troops, and leading them through the obstructions." Warren, Francis E. b. June 20, 1844 d. November 24, 1929 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient, Wyoming Governor, US Senator. At the start of the Civil War he enlisted as a Private in Company C, 49th Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, Union Army. In actions at Port Hudson, L on May 27, 1863, Corporal Warren volunteers to take part in movements against Confederate Artillery position. Yount, Harry S. b. March 18, 1839 d. May 16, 1924 Western Frontiersman. Considered the "Founding father of the National Park Ranger Service", he served as the first and only gamekeeper in Yellowstone National Park, the world's first National Park. He enlisted twice in the Civil War Union Army, mustering out as a Company Quartermaster Sergeant. In 1866, he came to Wyoming Territory working along the Bozeman Trail.
