Cooke, Thomas Burrage b. November 21, 1778 d. November 20, 1853 US Congressman. After moving to Catskill in 1802 he opened a store and became involved in several other enterprises, including banking. In 1810 Cooke was elected to the US House of Representatives as a Democratic-Republican and served one term, 1811 to 1813. In 1813 he became President of the Catskill National Bank, and his business interests grew to include shipping, farming and railroads.
