McAllister, Edward S. b. December 24, 1828 d. August 25, 1900 Civil War Union Army Officer. He served during the Ciivil War as a Captain and Commander of Battery D, Illinois Light Artillery. The unit was also known as McAllister's Battery and the Plainfield Light Artillery, and distinguished themselves at the Battles of Fort Donelson and Shiloh.
