Martin, James Stewart b. August 19, 1826 d. November 20, 1907 Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General, US Congressman. Served in the Civil War as Colonel and commander of the 111th Illinois Volunteer Infantry. He was brevetted Brigadier General, US Volunteers on February 28, 1865. He was elected to represent Illinois' 16th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1873 to 1875. Robinson, Elbridge b. January 7, 1844 d. January 19, 1918 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Private in the Union Army in Company C, 122d Ohio Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on June 14, 1863 at Winchester, Virginia. His citation reads "With one companion voluntarily went in front of the Union line, under a heavy fire from the enemy, and carried back a helpless wounded comrade, thus saving him from death or capture." Vursell, Charles Wesley b. February 8, 1881 d. September 21, 1974 US Congressman. Elected to represent Illinois's 23rd and 24th Districts in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1943 to 1959, but was defeated in 1958. Also served as a Member of the Illinois State House of Representatives from 1914 to 1916. Vursell was also a prominent Newspaper publisher. Wilson, Robert Lee b. May 24, 1921 d. August 3, 1944 World War II Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. Served with Company D, 2nd Pioneer Battalion, 18th Marines, 2nd Marine Division. He fought in practically every major engagement in the Pacific. At Tinian Island, Marianas Group, on August 3, 1944, Pfc. Wilson daringly preceded his companions toward a pile of rocks where Japanese troops had isolated points of resistance.
