Conaway, John Wesley b. September 19, 1843 d. November 21, 1913 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Served in the Civil War as a Private in Company C, 83rd Indiana Volunteer Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at Vicksburg, Mississippi on May 22, 1863. His citation reads "Gallantry in the charge of the "volunteer storming party."
