Bebb, Edward J. b. April 28, 1839 d. July 12, 1916 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Served in the Civil War as a Private in Company D, 4th lowa Volunteer Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at Columbus, Georgia on April 16, 1865. His citation reads simply "Capture of flag". His Medal was awarded to him on June 17, 1865. Briles, Sgt. Herschel Floyd b. February 7, 1914 d. July 17, 1994 Staff Sergeant Briles was awarded the Medal of Honor for action in Germany in November 1944. He rescued several men from a burning tank destroyer. The next morning, he fired a machinegun with such accuracy that 55 Germans surrendered. Later that day, he again left a position of cover to rescue wounded comrades. He was assigned to Co. C., 899th Tank Destroyer Batallion. For nine seasons (1952 to 1958, 1962), he was a left-handed pitcher with the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians. Stickels, Joseph b. November 15, 1843 d. December 6, 1876 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Served in the Civil War as a Sergeant in Company A, 83rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery in the Union assault and capture of Fort Blakely, Alabama on April 9, 1865. His citation simply reads "Capture of flag." Wilson, James b. April 29, 1820 d. January 8, 1888 At the start of the Civil War he was a 1st Lieutenent with the 13th Iowa Infantry, which together with three other regiments formed the Iowa Brigade,later known as Crocker’s Brigade.Wilson participated in numerous campaigns, including the battle of Shiloh, the siege of Vicksburg, and the capture of Atlanta.
