Cook, James [original burial site] b. October 27, 1728 d. February 14, 1779 Navigator, Explorer, Mapmaker. Mapped the coast of Newfoundland and later explored much of the Pacific basin. "Discovered" Hawaii in 1778 and named them the Sandwich Islands, after the voyage's sponsor, the Earl of Sandwich. On a later visit he was killed by native Hawaiians. Okutsu, Yukio b. November 3, 1921 d. August 24, 2003 World War II Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Okutsu was born on November 3, 1921, in Koloa, Kaui, Hawaii, where he later entered service. He served as a Technical Sergeant, United States Army, Company F, 442nd Regimental Combat Team. Okutsu was awarded his medal for service at Mount Belvedere, Italy, on April 7 1945, during World War II.
