McTureous Jr., Robert Miller b. March 26, 1924 d. June 11, 1945 World War II Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Private in the US Marine Corps in Company H, 3rd Battalion, 29th Marines, 6th Marine Division. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action at Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands on June 7,1945, where he was killed in action. His citation reads in part "Determined to prevent further casualties, he quickly filled his jacket with hand grenades and charged the enemy-occupied caves from which the concentrated barrage was emanating. Wright, Albert D. b. December 10, 1842 d. February 15, 1926 Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He entered the Union Army on August 15, 1862, when he was mustered in as a Sergeant in Company A, 149th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He served with the regiment until April 20, 1864, when he was transferred to the 43rd United States Colored Troops, and commissioned as Captain and commander of Company D.
