Anderson, Robert Bernard b. June 4, 1910 d. August 14, 1989 US Cabinet Secretary. He served as Secreatry of the Navy and Deputy Secretary of Defense in the Eisenhower administration before being appointed Secretary of the Treasury in 1957. He served in that capacity until January 20, 1961. In 1987, he was sentenced to a prison term of five months for income tax evasion in 1983 and 1984 and of operating an illegal offshore bank. Fine, Thomas Morgan 'Tommy' b. October 10, 1914 d. January 10, 2005 Major League Baseball Player. A native of Cleburne, Texas, he made his major league debut on April 26, 1947, and played his final game on June 28, 1950. He played for the Boston Red Sox from 1947 to 1950, and the St. Louis Browns in 1950. He died in Little Elm, Texas, at the age of 90. Palmer, Derrell F. b. August 22, 1922 d. February 22, 2009 Professional Football Player. He played as a defensive lineman in the National Football League for eight seasons (1946 to 1953), with the New York Yankees and Cleveland Browns. An All-American lineman from Texas Christian University, he signed with the New York Yankees of the All-American Conference in 1946. Traded to the Browns in 1948, he was a member of the team's All-American Conference win in 1949 and the Browns NFL title win in 1950, after the two pro leagues merged.
