Finck, William Edward b. September 1, 1822 d. January 25, 1901 US Congressman. Born in Somerset, Perry County, Ohio he served in the United States House of Representatives from 1863 to 1867. He was elected to Congress again in 1874 to fill the unexpired term caused by the resignation of Hugh J. Hewett. He served until 1875. Ransbottom, Alfred b. 1831 d. 1893 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in South Zanesville, Ohio, he served as a First Sergeant in Company K, 97th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Union Army. In the Battle of Franklin, Tennessee, November 30, 1864, during the assault on Confederate forces, First Sergeant Ransbottom in hand to hand combat, captured the flag of either the 2nd or 5th Missouri CSA. Ritchey, Thomas b. January 19, 1801 d. March 9, 1863 US Congressman. Born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania he moved to Somerset, Ohio where be engaged in farming. Underwood, Mell Gilbert b. January 30, 1892 d. March 8, 1972 US Congressman. Elected to represent Ohio's 11th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1923 to 1936.
