Babcock, Willoughby b. 1832 d. October 6, 1864 Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General. Served in the Civil War first as a 1st Lieutenant in the 3rd New York Volunteer Infantry. Promoted to Captain, he was initially assigned to the 64th New York Volunteer Infantry, but was never mustered in at that rank.
