Bridges, Dr. Calvin Blackman b. January 11, 1889 d. December 27, 1938 Scientist. He is considered one of the founders of the field of genetics. He served in United States Army during the War with Spain as a Private in Company H, 21st United States Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at Santiago, Cuba, on July 1, 1898. Moffitt, Stephen b. 1837 d. January 3, 1904 Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General. When the Civil War broke out he was the first man to enlist in the 96th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment. He rose to be Lieutenant Colonel in 1863 and Colonel of the regiment in 1865. At the Battle of Plymouth, April 16, 1864, he was captured, sent to Libby Prison and to prisons at Macon and Danville, Georgia.
