Steinbach, Larry b. December 23, 1900 d. January 29, 1967 Professional Football Player. Raised on a farm in a large family, he re-enrolled in high school at age 22 and two years later went on to St. Thomas College. George Halas, owner/coach of the Chicago Bears, asked Steinbach's college football coach if he knew of any good tackles. Coach Joe Boland recommended the 6-foot, 220-pound Steinbach.
