Williams, Gerhard Mennen b. February 23, 1911 d. February 2, 1988 41st Michigan Governor. Served as Governor of the State of Michigan for six terms, from 1949 to 1960. Also served as Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice 1983-1986. Williams died in a Detroit hospital Feb. 2, 1988 at 76.
