Butler, Thomas b. April 14, 1785 d. August 7, 1847 US Congressman. Born near Carlisle, Pennsylvania, he became an attorney in 1806, moved to Mississippi Territory in 1807 and was active in the militia as commander of a cavalry troop with the rank of Captain. Hart, John Elliott b. 1820 d. June 11, 1863 Civil War Union Naval Officer. Appointed midshipman on February 23, 1841, he became a Lieutenant in 1855. During the first 18 months of the Civil War, he served aboard the Vincennes and the Santee.
