At the beginning of the war he enlisted as a Private in a Mississippi Regiment, until his friend Jefferson Davis recruited him to go to Louisiana to raise a regiment. In 1862, he organized the 28th Louisiana Infantry Regiment and was appointed Colonel. Gray's 28th saw action at Vicksburg and various battles in Louisiana. Methvin, Henry b. April 8, 1912 d. April 19, 1948 Criminal. Member of the Barrow Gang with Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. Although Clyde Barrow freed him in the Eastham Prison Raid in 1934, he was ultimately the informant that coordinated with authorities in setting up the ambush that killed Bonnie and Clyde in Gibsland, Louisiana on May 23, 1934.
