Margeot, Jean b. February 3, 1916 d. July 17, 2009 Religious Figure. Born at Quatre Bornes, he was the Republic of Mauritius' first and only Roman Catholic Cardinal. Ordained as a Priest on December 17, 1938, he was consecrated as Bishop of the Diocese of Port Louis in May 1969. He also served as President of the Conference Episcopale de I'Ocean Indien, in the 1980s.
