Durrell, Gerald b. January 7, 1925 d. January 30, 1995 Naturalist, Zookeeper and Writer. He was the brother of writer Lawrence Durrell. His best-known book is My Family and Other Animals. Also he wrote Birds, Beasts, and Relatives and The Garden of the Gods. He founded the Jersey Zoological Park on the Channel Island of Jersey in 1958. Farnon, Robert b. July 24, 1917 d. April 23, 2005 Composer. He was conductor of the Canadian Band of the Allied Expeditionary Forces during World War II with Glenn Miller. He remained in England. He began the Robert Farnon Orchestra which played on British radio and television with Vera Lynn, Gracie Fields, and Norman Wisdom.
