Solaita, Tolia 'Tony' b. January 15, 1947 d. February 10, 1990 Major League Baseball Player. He was the first Samoan to play in major league baseball. In his 7 seasons in the big leagues, he played for the New York Yankees, Kansas City Royals, California Angels, Montreal Expos, and the Toronto Blue Jays. He was shot to death over a land dispute.
