Blanchard, Jonathan d. July 16, 1788 Continental Congressman. He was educated in local schools and became a surveyor, mapmaker, farmer and attorney. At the the start of the Civil War he was a lawyer in practice when in enlisted and was commissioned Lieutenant Colonel in the 14th Ohio Infantry in 1861. In 1862, he was promoted Colonel in command of the 14th Ohio and engaged in actions in Kentucky and West Virginia. Van Zandt, Charles Isaac b. February, 1876 d. September 14, 1908 Major League Baseball Player. A native of Brooklyn, New York he played in the majors for three seasons. In 1901 he played in three games for the New York Giants and he appeared in three games for the Chicago Cubs in 1904. The next year he played for the St. Louis Browns, appearing in ninety-four games. For his short career he had a .224 batting average with twenty RBI and thirty-two runs scored. He died in Nashua, New Hampshire the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
