Arrington, Archibald Hunter b. November 12, 1809 d. July 20, 1872 US Congressman. He was a successful landowner when elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-seventh and Twenty-eighth Congresses, serving 1841 to 1845. A supporter of the Confederacy, he was a member of the North Carolina Secession Convention and served as a member of the First Confederate Congress in 1861. In 1866, he was a delegate to the Union National Convention at Philadelphia, chairman of the court of common pleas in 1867 and commissioner for Nash County, North Carolina in 1868.
