Alexander, Adam Rankin b. November 1, 1781 d. November 1, 1848 US Congressman. During the War of 1812 he served as a Lieutenant in Captain William Dooley's Company of the 2nd Regiment, West Tennessee Militia. He was elected as a Representative from Tennessee to the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1823 to 1827 (first as an At-Large delegate from 1823 to 1825, then from the 9th District from 1825 to 1827).
