Connolly, Tommy b. December 31, 1870 d. April 28, 1961 Major League Baseball Umpire. Inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1953, Connolly was a Major League Umpire for 34 years. He was elected by the veteran's committee with Bill Klem, the first two umpires to be inducted. His family emigrated to America from Manchester, England when he was 13 years old. Elected to represent Massachusetts' 4th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1901 until his death in 1910.
