Lawson, Gen. John Kelburne b. 1887 d. December 19, 1941 Canadian military figure. Born in the UK in 1887. He served in WWI where he won a Military Cros at the Battle of Passchendaele. At the beginning of WWII, he was the Director of Military Training,in Ottawa, before he was given the command of the Royal Canadian Regiment and the other Canadian militia units who arrived in Hong Kong on November 16, 1941 as reinforcements for the British garrison there. Osborn, John Robert b. January 3, 1899 d. December 19, 1941 World War II Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Sergeant Major in the 1st Battalion Winnipeg Grenadiers. On December 19, 1941, in Hong Kong, China, Sergeant Major Osborn's company became divided during an attack.
