Stuart, Ronald Neil b. August 26, 1886 d. February 8, 1954 World War I Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Liverpool, England, he served as a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy. On June 7, 1917, in the Atlantic Ocean, Lieutenant Stuart was 2nd Officer of the HMS Pargust disguised as a British merchant vessel when it was torpedoed by a German submarine. Ordering abandoned ship, as one of the last life boats was shoving off, the periscope of the submarine was observed close before the port beam.
