Harvey, Eliab b. December 12, 1758 d. February 2, 1830 British Navy Commander. He commanded the Fighting Temeraire at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, where his skill and valour earned him promotion to rear-admiral. He was knighted in 1815. Harvey, William b. April 1, 1578 d. June 3, 1657 Physician. He discovered the function of the heart in the circulation of the blood. After graduating from the University of Padua in 1602 he returned to London where he became the physician for the royals, and a lecturer for the College of Physicians. It was in his lectures that he first posed the concept of the circulation of the blood.
