Berkeley, Lennox Randall Francis b. May 12, 1903 d. December 26, 1989 Composer. He was born into an aristocratic family of French and Scottish origin. His father, Captain Hastings George Fitzhardinge Berkeley, was the eldest son, but since he was born before his parents were able to marry he was legally unable to inherit the title and estates. Bridges, Robert Seymour b. October 23, 1844 d. April 21, 1930 Poet Laureate. He was born in Walmer, Kent and was educated at Eton and Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He went on to study medicine at St. Bartholomew's Hospital which he later practised. In 1882 he abandoned medical practice to devote himself to writing. Waterhouse, Alfred b. July 19, 1830 d. August 22, 1905 Architect. The son of wealthy mill-owning quaker parents. Born in Liverpool, he was educated at the quaker Grove School in Tottenham (Middlesex).
