Morefield, Richard Henry b. 1929 d. October 11, 2010 Iranian Hostage. A career diplomat with the United States Department of State, he was assigned to the US Embassy in Tehran Iran when it was seized by Iranian militants on November 4 1979. Sixty-six Americans were held hostage. Thirteen were released on November 20 1979. One was released due to illness on July 11, 1980.
