Collins, John b. September 10, 1880 d. September 3, 1951 World War I Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in West Hatch, England, he served as a Corporal in the 25th Battalion, Royal Welch Fusiliers. In actions at Beersheba, Palestine, on October 31, 1917, Corporal Collins repeatedly went out when his battalion was forced to lie out in the open under heavy shell and machine-gun fire and he brought back many wounded.
