Evans, Gen. Lewis Pugh b. January 3, 1881 d. November 30, 1962 World War I Victoria Cross Recipient. He served as a Lieutenant Colonel in command of the Black Watch, 1st Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment, British Army. At Zonnebeke, Belgium, on October 4, 1917, Lieutenant Colonel Evans took his battalion through a German barrage, formed up all units and led them to the assault.
