Bell, Donald Simpson b. December 3, 1890 d. July 10, 1916 World War I Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in he served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 9th Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment, British Army. On July 5, 1916, during a heavy attack at La Boiselle, Somme, France, a German machine gun opened up on 2nd Lieutenant Bell's company.
