Mackintosh, Lieut. Donald b. February 7, 1896 d. April 11, 1917 World War I Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he served as a Lieutenant in the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Seaforth Highlanders, British Army. On April 11, 1917, Lieutenant Mackintosh was leading his men in an advance on a German position north of Fampoux, France. He was shot through the right leg, but although crippled, continued to lead his men and captured the trench.
