John of Scotland (Balliol) (John) b. 1250 d. April, 1313 King of Scots. Son of John Balliol and Devorgilla, through whom he was a descendant of the royal Dunkeld line. Chosen by England's Edward I to fill the Scottish throne left vacant by the death of Margaret, Maid of Norway. He was crowned at Scone on November 30, 1292.
