Pennell, Henry Singleton b. June 18, 1874 d. January 19, 1907 Tirah Campaign Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Lieutenant in the Derbyshire Regiment, British Army. During the attack on the Dargai Hirghts, Tirah, India, October 20, 1897, when a Captain was struck down, Lieutenant Pennell ran to his assistance under a hail of bullets, to carry and drag him back to cover.
