• Mintoff, Dom   b. August 6, 1916  d. August 20, 2012
  Maltese Politician, former Prime Minister. Best known as the creator of the independence of Malta. Graduated at the University of Malta in 1943, he obtained his doctorate in Science and Engineering at Oxford. Mintoff was Political Secretary of the Labour Party, Prime Minister from 1955 to 1958 and from 1971 until 1984.
