Lawrence, Brian Turner Tom b. November 9, 1873 d. June 7, 1949 Boer War Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the 17th Lancers, British Army. On August 7, 1900, near Essenbosch, South Africa, Sergeant Lawrence and another soldier were attacked by a group of Boers. The other soldier's horse was shot and the man was thrown to the ground, dislocating his shoulder.
