Dartnell, Wilbur Taylor b. April 6, 1885 d. September 3, 1915 World War I Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. Born in Australia, he served as temporary acting Lieutenant in the 25th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, British Army. On September 3, 1915, during a mounted infantry engagement at Maktau, Kenya, East Africa, the enemy were so close that it was impossible to get the more severely wounded away.
