Amaya, Carmen b. November 2, 1913 d. November 19, 1963 Acclaimed Flamenco Dancer and Singer. She debuted in 1919, at the age of 6, at the Restaurante de las Siete Puertas and the next year she triumphed in Paris. In 1941, she appeared in New York at the Carnegie Hall, obtaining a big success, even President Roosevelt invited her to the White House. She also appeared in a few films such as "La Hija de Juan Simón" (1935), "María de la O" (1939), "See my Lawyer" (1945) and "Los Tarantos" (1963), her last film.
