Malbourne, Archibald b. May 3, 1840 d. February 28, 1912 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served in the Union Army as a Sergeant in Company G, 1st Rhode Island Volunteer Light Artillery. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action at Petersburg, Virginia on April 2, 1865. His citation reads "Was one of a detachment of 20 picked artillerymen who voluntarily accompanied an infantry assaulting party and who turned upon the enemy the guns captured in the assault." Mathewson, Elisha b. April 18, 1767 d. October 14, 1853 US Senator. A gentleman farmer, his first political appointment was as justice of the peace of Scituate, Massachusetts. He was elected as a Senator from Massachusetts to the United States Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of James Fenner, and served from October 26, 1807 to March 3, 1811.
