Benson, Ezra Taft b. August 4, 1899 d. May 30, 1994 Thirteenth President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1952 President Dwight David Eisenhower appointed Ezra Taft Benson to the cabinet post of Secretary of Agriculture, temporarilly being released from his duties as an Apostle while still serving in this capacity.
