Fortune, Rose b. March 13, 1774 d. February 20, 1864 She was the first policewoman in Canada. Born in Virginia, she and her family travelled to Nova Scotia. She policed the docks of Annapolis and was a prominent citizen and businesswoman. Her grave does not have a marker.
