Gillespie, James [original burial site] b. 1747 d. January 11, 1805 US Congressman. Elected to represent North Carolina's 5th District in the US House of Representatives, he served four terms, from 1793 to 1799 and from 1803 until his death. There is some dispute over when and where Gillespie was born. Most sources claim Kenansville, North Carolina as his birthplace, while others assert he came to the colonies from County Monaghan, Ireland. Hunter, Narsworthy [original burial site] b. 1756 d. March 11, 1802 US Congressman. Elected to the Seventh Congress as a Delegate from the Mississippi Territory, he served from 1801 until his death. There is little information on Hunter's life and his birthplace is unknown. By the mid-1790s he was active as a Major of Horse in a Mississippi Militia group he helped organize, and was later commissioned inspector of the military posts on the east side of the Mississippi River.
