Gibbs, Wesley b. July 24, 1842 d. May 29, 1917 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the Union Army in Company B, 2d Connecticut Heavy Artillery. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on April 2, 1865 at Petersburg, Virginia. His citation reads "Capture of flag." Horne, Samuel Belton b. March 3, 1843 d. September 18, 1928 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Captain in the Union Army in Company H, 11th Connecticut Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on September 29, 1864 at Fort Harrison, Virginia. His citation reads "While acting as an aide and carrying an important message, Horne was severely wounded and his horse killed, but delivered the order and rejoined his general." Kellogg, Elisha Strong b. 1825 d. June 1, 1864 Civil War Union Army Officer. Once a sailor in the British Merchant Fleet, he prospected for gold in California, after which he settled and married in Winsted, Connecticut. Here he would make his living and a machinest and tool maker.
