Carroll, John b. August 16, 1891 d. October 4, 1971 World War I Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Private in the 33rd Battalion, New South Wales Australian Imperial Forces. During the Battle of Messines at St Ives, Belgium, June 7 to 12, 1917, Private Carroll rushed the enemy's trench and bayoneted four men.
