Johnson, Joseph b. December 19, 1785 d. February 27, 1877 Colonial Politician and US Congressman. Johnson was a United States Representative and was Governor of Virginia from 1852 to 1855. Born in New York, he moved with his mother to Belvidere, New Jersey in 1791 and thence to Bridgeport, Virginia (now part of West Virginia) in 1801.
