Allen, Thomas Scott b. July 26, 1825 d. December 12, 1905 Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General. Served in the Civil War first as Lieutenant Colonel of the 2nd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry (which was part of the Army of the Potomac's "Iron Brigade"), then as Colonel and commander of the 5th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry. He was brevetted Brigadier General, US Volunteers on March 13, 1865 for "gallant and meritorious services". From 1866 to 1870 he served as Wisconsin's Secretary of State. Andrews, George Rex b. September 21, 1808 d. December 2, 1873 US Congressman. Elected as a Whig to represent New York's 14th District in the US House of Representatives, he served from 1849 to 1851. Andrews was born in Ticonderoga, New York. He graduated from the Albany Law School, was admitted to the bar in 1836 and returned to his hometown to open a law practice. After his single term in Congress, he abandoned politics and the legal profession altogether and moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where he ran a lumber and timber business until his death.
