  Professional Boxer. He appeared in 83 fights during his 20-year professional boxing career, winning 58 bouts (53 KO's), losing 23 with two draws.   Professional Baseball Player. He played nine years in the major leagues as a pitcher with the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox, Washington Senators and Detroit Tigers. Wilson played collegiate baseball at the University of Portland before making his major league debut on September 9, 1934 with the Philadelphia Athletics.
