He played nine years in the major leagues as a pitcher with the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox, Washington Senators and Detroit Tigers. Wilson played collegiate baseball at the University of Portland before making his major league debut on September 9, 1934 with the Philadelphia Athletics.
