The left-handed pitcher broke in with Cincinnati in 1944, then spent two years in the military before rejoining the Reds. He was traded along with outfielder Johnny Wyrostek to the Philadelphia Phillies for pitcher Bubba Church on May 23, 1952. He pitched in a total of 18 games for the Phillies in 1952 to 1953 with an 0-1 record. He finished his career with a 13-38 record and 4.95 earned run average.
